Frequently Asked Questions

When Does Torch Hold Services?

Torch meets each Sunday. Services begin at 11:00 AM.

Instead of hosting traditional Sunday school small groups, Torch looks to model its community and fellowship after the early churches of the Bible, which met in the temple courts (large group expression) and from house to house (small group expression).

At Torch, we believe both formats of worship and fellowship are of equal importance. On Sunday morning we come together to worship, fellowship, and learn through God's Word. Throughout the week, our house churches meet in smaller groups, not just as a bible study, but as a more intimate family of believers.

What Denomination Is Torch?

Torch Community Church is not affiliated with any denomination. What does that mean? Well, our beliefs are rooted in the Bible and anyone interested in looking to the Bible for guidance on their faith is welcome. Our church is a diverse body of believers, from Baptists to former Catholics, Lutherans, and Presbyterians. The common ground is found in Jesus, faithfully trusting the Bible, and seeking to support and grow God's church. If that sounds good to you, come visit us!

What Child Care / Children's Services Does Torch Offer?

Torch is fortunate to serve many young families, meaning there are A LOT of kids in our service every given Sunday. Here is what a typical Sunday looks like at Church for those with kids.

Main Worship - Children remain with their parents during the worship portion of each sermon. We feel it is imperative for families to worship together. The Bible calls parents to disciple their children (Deut 6:4-9). Leading by example in worship is one way we can do that.

During The Sermon - Children are always welcome to remain with their parents during the sermon. However, we also offer a nursery, as well as Bible studies for children between the ages of 2 and 12. Following worship, the children will be dismissed to their classrooms. Torch has an exceptional team of children's workers who love kids and are passionate about helping them experience God's Word in an engaging and fun environment.

After The Sermon - After the sermon, children will await their parents to pick them up from their classroom.

Throughout The Week - For our older children (middle and  high school), we offer a youth night of worship, bible study, and fellowship. This weekly gathering is a great way for older children to mature in their faith and foster friendships with peers that share their values. For additional information on our weekly youth gathering, please contact us at torchky@gmail.com, or ask our Youth Minister, Vinny Folchi.

How Do I Tithe?

If you visit Torch, you may notice that we do not pass around an offering plate. That's not because we don't believe we're called to tithe. The Bible clearly calls us to give sacrificially to the Lord (Leviticus 27:30, Malachi 3:10, 2 Corinthians 9:7). However, we don't want money to be the main focus on a Sunday. For those that want to tithe with checks and cash, we leave an offering plate at the front of the sanctuary, next to the altar.
